Tasty Tuesday!!!!

I was thinking on what I should post today while making dinner for my family and it dawned on me why not post dinner. I LOVE cooking! I think every Tuesday I will post a new recipe :)

Tonight's Dinner Selection: Broccoli, Chicken Cheesy Casserole
Ingredients:

  • 1lb of Velveeta cheese
  • 1 can of cream of mushroom
  • 1 can of cream of chicken
  • 1cup of rice
  • 1 bag of broccoli
  • 3 boneless skinless chicken breast

Directions:

First preheat the oven to 350. Boil the chicken till fully cooked. Next melt the cheese and mix with both soups. Then boil the broccoli and mix in with the cheese and soups. Next shred the chicken in small pieces  and mix in as well. After all the ingredients are well mixed, put into casserole dish and pop it into the oven for about 15-20 min and serve.

I have found that my family loves this recipe and it really doesn't need any salt (hazza!)

Well I hope yours does too. God bless :)

My poor sick Amy :(

Last night my daughter was up ALL night in runny nose, sneezing and coughing fits, yes sadly she now has cold number 4. Today hasn't been any easier, she has been crazy happy(as always) but so sick and sleepy. So of course we are trying the usual: Johnson's baby cold bath, Vic's baby rub on feet, chest and back, a baby vaporizer, baby Tylenol, and last propping her mattress up with towels. Oh I can't stand to see my baby sick...*sigh*

Even though my baby is sick she is still so happy and wonderful.

Well prayers please and God Bless yall!

Baby???? And funny onesies : )

Me and Jake talk every once in a while about having another baby, I mean not right at this second, but sometime in the near future. I know I say all the time (mostly when I am overwhelmed) that one baby is defiantly enough. But there are times when I do long for another baby, a sibling for Amelia, another little girl or even a son. For right now though we really need to wait till we have our own place and spend more time with Amy before adding another child to our little family.

However when we do have another child, I have made it my mission to add more funny onesies to the mix.

Here are just a few,

Well thats it for tonight God Bless :)

Lent and Sippie cup success :)

First off we have been trying on and off for a month to get Amelia to try a sippie cup and 2 days ago we finally had success. She loves it and uses it everyday. Now all she drinks is water for right now. She is still drinking around 4 bottles  a day and is eating 3-4 little meals a day with her water (juice is too sugary and she cant have milk till she is one). She is getting so big and is so close to walking it is crazy. My sister-in-law suggested we mush up whatever we are eating that night, we tried it with roast beef and veggies and no success yet but we shall keep trying. Especially since she is so interested in what were eating lol.

On another important topic...lent :)

This year for lent I am giving up sodas. Which is a big deal for me, ever since I have left my parents house i have gone crazy over sodas. You see we were only aloud to have sodas on very special occasions and after I flew the coop I drink them all the time. I now only going to drink water and milk for lent.

Also for lent, I am going to read and explain to Amelia a bible story every day (on top of her bedtime stories). And pray together as a family  when we get up and go to bed.  Me and Jake are excited about this becoming  a new tradition for our family every year on lent.

Last I want to spend at least 30min to an hour a day reflecting on all God has given me and trying to find ways to give back, from giving diapers to needy moms to giving blood.

Well that's all for today y'all, God Bless!

The stubborn tooth... :(

Me and my lil family loved our day off yesterday. We practiced walking, baked cookies, and watched Shrek movies. I really just love when we can spend time just the three of us. The only issue we had was her stubborn 3rd tooth. It has been coming in for a week now and still will not break through. Ugggggggg!!! I really do hate watching her hurt. She doesn't like the frozen teethers and the herbal teething tablets do not work (at least on her). All we can do is give her Tylenol and and hold her. Yesterday was perfect for that, she got all of mommies and daddies attention. Just to see her smiling face, laughing and loving our attention, made me see how blessed I am.  Today i just want to thank God for my wonderful family (and also pray for that stubborn tooth lol.)

God bless you and yours! : D

Amy's Christening!

Today was a wonderful day!!! My daughter had her Christening today. Now I know, 7 months old is a little old to be Christening, however we just wanted to find the right church and the right time for all involved. But late or not, it came and went great! Her God Parents are a dream, and I know we put our daughters future in loving and good hands. The service was very nice, and Amelia's great uncle Dan christened her (which is really cool since he also baptized her daddy). Yet another awesome thing was Amy was wonderfully behaved throughout both the service, christening and the reception afterwards, even though she had not had a nap. It really does make my heart smile when people comment on how well behaved and sweet my baby is. Her reception was b-e-a-utiful!  There was pink and white everywhere and plenty of food. I would have to say that my favorite part was the amazing cake. It was a cross with pink roses (yes i love pink lol) and said we love you Amelia and my favorite  bible verse Jeremiah 29:11.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

This is what I want for our daughter, I want her to have dreams, hope and  a good future. I want her to have a  good relationship with God. And I am so happy that we are preparing her for that. Today marked the beginning of that relationship and her future. I feel as parents that is mine and Jacob's biggest job to teach her that she can only accomplish her dreams is through our LORD, and that relationship is the most important. And that I hope we can meet that challenge, especially with both of our families backing us up.

Well that is all for today, I promise pics tomorrow :)

I know it sounds chiche, but i really do wish babies came with a instruction manual.

As you know I have a wonderful daughter who is my whole world right now. Well being a first time mom I really have no idea how to feed a seven month old, who doesn't want a bottle, however doesn't quite get the whole sippy cup thing. I mean really, the whole bottle thing was easy, give them this many ounces every three hours. But now she is refusing a bottle! She soooo wants to eat what ever me and Jake are eating that night, however only has two teeth. So far ( as far as "real" food goes) she has tried the lil graduates snacks, a tiny bit of chicken and a little ground beef. She loves to eat Gerber's vegetables and hates fruit. (we also have found that as a special treat she  l-o-v-e-s   ice cream). My issue is how do you know what your feeding your 7 month old is enough. I keep asking my self : Is she getting enough protein? fluids? fruit? On top of it all she only will drink out of a sippy cup if the regulator is out of the spout, which causes a HUGE mess. She might as well drink out of an open cup (which she loves too). We tried fruit today, and it was somewhat of a success, she ate it, but shivered after every bite. It is really a guessing game as far as what to feed her.

I do think though, I have finally found a solution to our sippy cup issue. I saw this in parent magazine and thought that is is perfect for Amelia.

It has a no spill design and only dispenses liquid if they push down on the sides :)  Ya I thought it sounded cool too : P

Well wish us good luck. I know that this issue is just the start of many first time mom bumps in the road to go lol.

Oh, And for good measure a picture of my lil angel drinking out of a cup ^^

Have a good one!
