17 months!!!

I can't believe it! My darling girl is already 17 months old!

Whats new?
Well...
  • You are 28 pounds and 32 inches long! Growing more and more everyday! You are thinning out but growing taller and taller!
  • You have actually started having conversations with real people on the phone. You can talk up to 10 minutes of pure babble. The family just loves it!
  • Speaking of talking, you are trying to say new words every day! You can defiantly tell us what a cow and a cat says. (funny note: you think horses say moo no matter what any one tells you).
  • You still love books! I have even started taking them on car trips with us. If it were up to you all we would do all day is read. Mommy and daddy absolutely love this!

  • You are starting to like more veggies! A personal victory for your mama :) You have started eating carrots, corn, onions and celery! You personal favorites are still green beans and sweet potatoes though.

  • You also had your first Popsicle and pudding cup this week!

Needless to say you loved both!
  • You had your second thanksgiving this year and were a dream. You played with all you older cousins and had a blast!

  • You know where your eyes, ears and nose are and now have learned where your toes and hair are.
  • You can now follow simple commands and are trying to communicate more and more with us everyday.
  • You have started to really mommy your stuffed animals. You rock them and put them in your stroller. You even try and give them your paci.

  • Speaking of trying to be a mommy, you so want to baby your cousin so much. You don't understand why you can't pick him up or feed him. You give him kisses all the time and try to play with him (when you are not busy being  jealous lol).
  • You love to be in onesies. You will only sleep in them and prefer to be in them than anything else.
  • You are down to one nap a day! It is usually a hour to a hour and a half, but you have started going to bed at 8:30 religiously and get up at 6:30 to 7 am every morning.
  • You continue to be the silliest girl on two legs. You love to spin and squeal (cracks me and your daddy up). You try and chase us around and tickle us. You are simply a joy to be around.

God bless from a very proud mommy!

Boggers block and a final decision about co sleeping

HI guys! long time no see : P I know I have been absent  on and off for a while. The truth is most days I am at a loss of what to write. With a very busy toddler and a house to keep up, by the time I sit down mind goes to mush lol.

However this morning waking up to my wonderful daughters face. A topic did come to mind of what to write about today. Co-sleeping and our final decision :)

When I was pregnant, I was so very against co sleeping. I mean seriously it weirded me out and I didn't understand it at all. I mean why would you want to share your bed with your baby it was just for you and your husband right?

Then we had our daughter and I have to tell you co-sleeping became a necessity to sleep lol. At one month old our poor colicky Amelia would only sleep on my chest and only took 45 min naps during the day . As she got older and the colic was over we did try and get her to sleep in her crib, but to be honest she hated it and we didn't like it either. I mean me and Jake hated the cio method and we all slept better when she was with us.

Fast forward to our lives now we go half and half. She sleeps the first half of the night in her crib and that gives me and Jake our time together, then by around midnight 1am, when she wakes up, she is in bed with us. We have been getting alot of advice from alot of people lately telling us to just put her in her crib and let her fuss and stay in there until morning. Well we tried and failed miserably. Neither me or her father could last more than 3 minutes. We went and got and consoled her and kissed her until she fell asleep in our arms. Her father looked at me and said he just couldn't let her feel alone and I agreed.

I know it works for other families, I mean our neighbors little boy will literally go to his bed on his own and sleep for 12 hours at a time.

But for our family it is just not worth all the heartache.

So all of this is to say we have made a decision. We, as a family, have decided that we will co-sleep until Amelia is 2. At that time we feel we will be able to explain to her that it is ok. That mommy and daddy are in the next room. That she is old enough to sleep in her big girl bed. But for now we will enjoy these nights where we can all snuggle together as a family and wake up to this amazing little girls smile.

Now to show you what I wake up to every morning. It make me feel so happy and blessed to have these two in my life. (please excuse the messy hair and make-up-less face. we literally just woke up :))

Sweet dreams and God bless Everyone!

One amazing child :)

Do you ever look at your child and think how amazing. God chose to bless you with this amazing angel. Yes they are a handful, yes they are extremely messy, and yes their screams can break glass. However those times when even though they don't feel good they still give you the sweetest smile. Those times when your day seems so stressful and they make you laugh, you think to yourself what a perfect little blessing. I am so blessed to have this little girl in my life. I am so happy to see her laugh and play and giggle. I love to hear that pitter patter of running feet around the house. Yes I know this post sounds corny but I don't really care I love this child!

God bless!
