Last day of 2012 and 13 hopes for 2013

Please someone tell me where did this year go! What all happened? Well...

My daughter turned from a little baby to a rambunctious toddler.

I gained a new little nephew!

And found out that I will soon have another niece or nephew

Me and Jake have argued, fussed, hugged, kissed more this year than any other. We have grown in our love for each other . And I wouldn't rather go though this with anyone but him  :)

* We finally came up with a plan for our future, and have started towards that plan

*Amelia has learned how to walk and talk

*Amelia's first birthday!

*We have decided on a church 

*Amelia went to her first aquarium!

Well it has been a crazy year but a blessed one at that!

My 13 Hopes for 2013

*Potty train Amelia

*Finish getting outta of debt

*Support Jacob as he finishes his first certificate in Aerospace

*Get Amelia off the pacifier

*Start getting our lives together for our own house (maybe get a part-time job)

*Work on words with Amelia an hour a day

*Work on keeping our marriage fresh and happy

*Lose 30 pounds 

*Teach Amelia how to swim

*Take a overnight vacation just me and Jake

*Go to the beach or Gatlinburg for a family vacation!

*Enroll in college and finish my CPA

*Grow closer to God and teach Amelia all about him and his wonders. As well as go to church every Sunday possible.

Wow it looks like I have a busy year ahead of me!

A year and a half!!!!

WHAT?! Your already 18 months! Oh my gosh my little angel is growing up so fast. You are growing smarter, taller, sweeter, lovely... oh the list could go on and on.

You have had such a busy month! There was so many new things you did this month. Oh where to start...

Well....

• You attended a friends birthday party ( your first time attending a party that wasn't family). You did great!

• Had a allergy test only to learn you aren't allergic to anything at all! The test sucked, but you my brave angel, perked up with in a couple of minutes. I couldn't of been any prouder of you that day!

• You have started to show fear and bravery in different situations. You show bravery in climbing and trying new things. Also in loving all different types of animals including reptiles and lizards! But showing fear in dogs barking and large crowds of adults.  You have also started hiding behind me and your fathers legs as well. I am just glad you trust us to protect you. We always will.

• You are starting to really understand what we are telling you. We finally found a way discipline you that actually works. We tell you no, then we get down on your level  and explain why we are telling you no and that this is a warning. We also tell you that if you do try it again you will get a pop on the butt. I am happy to say you really seem to be responding well to this. You rarely get popped. I also can see in your face and manurisms that you are weighing out what we just said. How smart is that?! You almost always go and find something else to do. I am very proud of you baby!

• Yup that's right you took your first bowling trip this month too. Oh how you loved it! You bowl better than your mommy baby girl! I love all the new things we are now able to do with you. 

• You have become a major cuddle bug! You have also started hugging. And I do mean hugging. You call them "heys". It is so adorable! You will reach up wrap your arms around me, squeeze and say "hey". Your daddy has always said the same thing to you ever since you were born. How amazing that you now return the hug. :) 

• You saw your first snow this year and were amazed (even though it was from a over-sized snow-cone machine on a building, it was real to you). Oh mommy loved seeing you play and ahhh at that snow. 

• You saw Santa for the second time...needless to say you weren't his biggest fan lol. 

• However as soon as we were outta of santa's sight you went right back to having the time of your life!
• Food: You love granola bars! You eat one every morning with your morning milk. Other than that and not having to worry about allergies, there is nothing new to report.
• Sleep: Well when you arn't sick you have really taken to sleeping all night in your crib. We just gotta get rid of that cough.
• Baths: You either love bubble baths or just plain showers. Mommy and daddy love the fact that you now love showers. It is so much easier to rinse you off now! However seeing you splash in a bubble bath is always priceless!

HAPPY 18 Month's Amelia! Mommy is so proud of you and how much you have grown. You are mommy and daddy's whole world! We love you!

Christmas!

Our Christmas was very very busy this year. We started out with Santa presents in the morning, then on to a big family party with jake's family. Then we headed to my mothers while Jake had to go to work. Last we picked her daddy up and sacked out at home. Like I said b.u.s.y!

For once I really didn't take a lot of pictures. I know weird right? I really just spent as much time as I could with my angel and Jake. I loved watching Amelia oooo and ahhhh over her gifts. Even if half way through opening the mountain she got a little over whelmed and had a little melt down. (She is not a crowd person like her daddy) However I loved seeing her with all the family. She is so blessed to be surrounded by so many people who love her.


Can I tell you what my most favorite part of the night was? I loved that by the end of the very busy day we had a quiet night of snuggling and playing as a family. We made pretend food on her new kitchen,swept with her new play broom, fed her new baby doll and most of all laughed and hugged, hugged, hugged. She did not go to sleep until 10pm!

Her daddy had to work from 4pm to 8pm that night. It was cold rainy and miserable outside but he did it. He is such an amazing man to provide for our family and even when he came home soaked and tired, he still spent the last little bit of Christmas with a smile on his face and all the love in the world for us.

I feel so blessed to have such a caring, amazing man in my life. I feel so blessed to have such a sweet, loving daughter. Most of all I feel blessed that God sent his only son down to this earth to make all of this possible.

Loving our mornings!

I have this blog mostly as a journal, to look back at a later date and remember all the memories with my sweet angel. Yup every once in a while i get off on a rant, but mostly I want this to be like a memory box.

Today's memory I want to share is mine and Amelia's mornings. Our mornings have been about the same for at least the last 8 months maybe longer. 

6:30 to 7:30: Amelia wakes up right beside me and her father and says "hey" to us first thing. She rolls over smiles and hugs us both. I truly love this. Can you think of a better way to start your day then a hug from your daughter? I can't. 

7:45: After lots of hugs a kisses, me and Amelia usually let her daddy sleep in and we head down stairs to start our day. First thing I sit her on the couch and she plays with our cat Tigger, while I warm her up a sippie cup of milk. She loves her milk! Then mommy turns on mickey mouse club house and we sit and share a bowl of cereal and snuggle. 

8:45:  We either get up and get ready for a play date or we start play time at home. We almost always have the Disney Junior in the background. She looks up and watches every once and a while, but mostly we snuggle, sing our songs together and play play play! 

By 9:30 we are defiantly getting ready for the day by now and daddy is up. 

So there you go. Our wonderful mornings! For now they are just very simple and just perfect. Plenty of snuggle and play time with just mommy and Amy. I do have to say I do love them so!

Funny tid bit: Amelia started to sing the hot dog song yesterday. It was the cutest thing!

Just being silly!

Amelia has been sick for the last couple of days. She is coughing, sneezing, and has a runny nose. With all the coughing she can bearly sleep and that of course makes her very upset during the day.

So yesterday her daddy and her pawpaw decided to be extra silly to cheer her up. They did their usual funny faces and sounds, however somewhere the silliness was turned up a notch. Yup I turned around and all three of them had diapers on their heads giggling.

Laughing myself I had to join in as well. It was super silly but so worth it to see my little girl smile after feeling so bad.

Amelia's Birth-story!

Being a avid blog reader (not the best at blog writing but anyways), I have noticed that just about everyone is pregnant or just had a baby. I have been reading birth stories left and right and waiting on others to happen. Well all this reading and waiting has got me in a writing mood. You see I didn't start blogging until Amelia was 7 months old, so there was no cute birth-story post. Until today!

I present Amelia's birth story!

Amelia was due June 28th 2011. By the time it was May 28th 2011, I was ready to have this baby. I was under the impression, at the time, that at 36 weeks your baby is ready to come out. I wanted to walk until she came and eat all the food that is said to induce labor. However my husband said no way! He said we had to wait until I was at least 40 weeks before we were to do anything. He said she needed to bake for a little while longer. He truly was my rock. He really did know what was best for our little girl. I didn't understand it at the time though. I mean both me and my husband were born at 36 weeks and we were just  fine. Right? Well not exactly, I found out later that we both were allergic to just about anything and we both had child hood asthma. Jake even had to have tubes in his ears growing up. Where as we both might have not had some of these problems if we were born at 40 weeks (not that it was either of our moms faults, we both came ready or not lol). Also this last year I watched my nephew struggle to live, being born at 37 weeks and that was the kicker. If I were to ever get pregnant again, I would try everything humanly possible to have the baby at 40 weeks.

Well back on track lol. For those of you who don't know I had a bad car accident when I was 4 months pregnant and had a hip replacement because of that.  It was a small price to pay, considering my daughter was safe and unharmed. However by that last month, I had just learned how to walk again and sleeping was horrible. Both my hips were constantly in pain and I had a huge belly that I couldn't sleep on. I spent nights crying about no sleep.

Fast forward to my last appointment with my doctor at 39 1/2 weeks. We discussed that, the week before they took out my mucus plug (tmi?). And that at 39 1/2 weeks I was fully effaced but only 1cm dilated. I was getting very impatient at that time. We started talking induction. She gave me the choice to either induce at 40 weeks (which was that friday the 28th). Or because it would be fourth of July weekend not to induce until a week and a half later. I couldn't stand the thought of waiting a week and a half. I was miserable. So we did it, we scheduled the induction for the 28th! We was sooo excited, we were going to meet our little girl at last, in a couple of days! It wasn't until we left that I realized that the 28th was my birthday! So my family and my husbands family all gathered together and they threw me a party for my birthday on the night before. My sister-in-law even took maternity pics of us. It was such a sweet blessing to be surrounded by all the family I knew and loved a night before we were going to add one more. 

The next day, was the day! We were going to meet our baby! We had to get up at 4 am and be at the hospital at 5am for the induction. We called the family and told them we were on our way. We showed up filled out all the necessary paper work and then we were off to our room. My mother and sister showed up when we were all set up in the room. 

They started the Pitocin at 8am and the contractions started off slow. However at 11am they broke my water and that is when things started to hurt! I didn't even keep track of the time I just kept breathing. I am surprised I did't break my poor husbands hand. I can say I only snapped at him once. He wanted me to do the ahi ahi ahoo breathing exercises and it wasn't gonna happen. At some point my father in law showed up and I was surround by family (at that point I didn't care who was in the room I was in pain!). They tried to give me a epidural but no avail, it did nothing! By the time they were going to come in and try and fix it, it was time to push. My father in law and sister rushed out of the room and all that was left was my mother and my husband. I looked up at the clock and... it was already 4:30! Where did the time go? They kept telling me not to push wait on my doctor. Well she was coming whether I pushed or not (so secretly I pushed) By the time my doctor showed up, Amelia was almost here. My doctor got set up and told me to push! She was telling me how much black hair my daughter had. 

That is when things started to get scary...after I pushed out my daughters head, I blacked out. My family said that my face went blank and the doctor and my mom knew...I was having a seizure. The first one of my life! They all started to yell and scream at me trying to get me to come to. Amelia's head was out but I still had to push out her shoulders. They knew either I would come out of it soon, or I could go into complete grand mal with Amelia still there! Well thank goodness. less than a minute later I came to and saw everyone screaming at me to push. It didn't hit me what was happening until I saw my husbands face. How scared he was yelling and pleading at me to push. I saw his face and it was like a smack in the face, I WAS HAVING A BABY!

I pushed so hard that she came out in one fell swoop! I had a 2nd degree tear but I didn't care my baby was here!

They put her on my chest for a couple of minutes and then they took her to the table. They were mildly concerned because she wasn't crying she was grunting. It was the most perfect sound. after they checked her over in our room they gave her to my husband. I was still being stitched up and checked over by my doctor.

It was so beautiful to watch him hold our baby girl. His face was red. he was crying and telling me how beautiful our daughter was. Tears filled my eyes.I have never loved him more than in that moment. He was my knight in shining armor and mow our daughters. Then it was finally time for me to hold our baby, even more tears. The world stopped. Here was my daughter, the most beautiful sight I had ever seen and the love. Well it is truly the most deep love I have ever felt. God chose us to have this little blessing. What a blessing she was and still is! She was born at 4:58 pm and was 7lb 5oz and 19 inches long! Practically perfect in every way!

Then Jake went with our new little angel to get her cleaned up.

And after a shower and almost 2 hours finally got to see my little girl again! 

The nurses told us she was so very healthy and alert. I still couldn't believe she was ours! We spent 2 days in the hospital. It was so perfect having my daughter right there. No I didn't put her in the nursery. I just couldn't bring my self to do it. I wanted her there with me and her daddy. I wanted to establish from the beginning that we would always be there for her. 

At last we had to leave the comfort of the hospital and make our big adventure back home. But not before we had one last photo shoot. 

 Now its almost a year and a half later, we have made mistakes, cried many tears, had loads of laughter, and still have sleepless nights.  But it is truly the most wonderful experience of my life! We are blessed with our happy, healthy, sweet little girl and can't imagine life with out her.
